The first phase of the ODI tournament will be a round robin where all teams will play once, making it 45 matches. The first phase will end on November 12 with a match between India and the Netherlands in Bengaluru.
The top four teams at the end of the round-robin stage will advance to the semi-finals. The first and fourth placed teams will play the first semi-final on November 15 in Mumbai, while the second and third placed teams will meet in the second semi-final on November 16 in Kolkata.
However, if Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play the match in Kolkata regardless of their position in the table; and if India can make it, they will play in Mumbai. If the two teams meet in the semi-finals, the match will be held in Kolkata.
